Known as Saigon's "Guitar Street", shops on Nguyen Thien Thuat sell everything from the custom-made acoustic guitars to eccentrically shaped electric guitars, mandolins and traditional Vietnamese stringed instruments (such as "dan nguyet" - two-stringed moon lute). There are around 30 guitar shops on a 500-meter stretch. Although tourists can find guitars or other musical instruments in their countries, in Saigon's guitar street they are much cheaper and the quality of "made in Vietnam" is still worth considering.
