Da Nang has announced an easing of the city's strict social distance rules from midnight on 4 September. In the mean time, Vietnam Airlines and VietjetAir resume domestic flights to and from Đà Nẵng after more than a month of social distancing due to the COVID-19 outbreak. (For more details)

Bars and discos in Ho Chi Minh City were allowed to resume operations from 6:00 pm on Monday 07/09/2020. But people are asked to wear face masks whenever leaving the house, visiting public places, and using public transportation.

Vietnamese authorities announced that people who enter Vietnam at isolation facilities from September 1 are set to pay quarantine fees, with medical examinations and treatment costs being covered by the State.

After 3 consecutive days without local transmissions since July 25, Vietnam recorded 1 case in the community and 1 quarantined case on arrival in 02/09.

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Health, Experts and visitors entering Vietnam to work short-term do not have to be medically isolated for 14 days on entry, but must strictly and fully comply with regulations on prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemics. (More details)

The pedestrian streets including those around Hoan Kiem Lake, its neighbouring streets in the Old Quarter, such as Hang Dao, Hang Giay and Dong Xuan Night Market will be temporarily closed from August 21.

Vietnam recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases and removed one (PATIENT 994 AT E HOSPITAL) from its count Thursday evening, putting the total number of patients at 1,007 and active cases at 439.

Stranded foreign tourists in Hoi An can have free Covid-19 testing if they show papers to prove that they are leaving this epicenter (like flight ticket or train ticket). Hoi An authorities also required foreign visitors who test negative for the virus to isolate themselves and avoid infection risks before leaving the town. 13 new Covid-19 cases and 1 new death were report today. Vietnam has 989 Covid-19 infections in total, including 520 recoveries and 444 active cases. The nation has lost 25 people to the pandemic.

Hà Nội authorities on Tuesday issued an urgent dispatch, asking for serious implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures after a new case of a woman in Hà Nội’s Tây Hồ District was reported, bringing the total number of local infections in the capital city to 11.

Vietnam confirms 14 new Covid-19 cases, among these there are 11 community transmission case, 4 in Hai Duong, 1 case in Ha Noi, 6 in Da Nang

"Since July 25, when local transmission returned after over three months, 499 cases have been reported in 15 cities and provinces. Most have been linked to the country's epicenter Da Nang, where 350 people have contracted the virus.

121 new Covid-19 cases were reported within a week, which is less than the number of new cases found last week (221). Da Nang, Hoi An continue social isolation until further announcement. Hai Duong imposes social distancing regulations from 14/08. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City along with most areas are currently lowered to ‘at-risk’ after the social isolation ended on April 22.

20 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), including four imported patients, and one death were reported in Vietnam on Saturday.

"It is expected that Da Nang epidemics will be controlled by the end of August", Minister of Health said at the meeting in August 14th about measures to prevent and control the epidemic in the current period.

Vietnam confirmed 22 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths in Thursday 13/08/2020, increasing the number of active cases to 464. The two fatalities raised Vietnam's Covid-19 death count to 20.

Quang Nam has decided to continue social isolation in Hoi An city until further announcement.

Vietnam reported 14 new Covid-19 cases, with 13 of them in Da Nang City and one in Hanoi. A 55-year-old man in Da Nang City became 17th Covid-19 fatality.

Da Nang has decided to continue social distancing indefinitely, limiting gatherings to two people and household shopping to once every three days.

Vietnam confirmed 31 new coronavirus infections, more than half in the epicenter Da Nang, and one virus-related death on Sunday.

After two day of the fundraising, Saigon Zoo decided to end the call for money as “donations have been quite enough for us to handle our difficulties during COVID-19 time”. Located in No.1 Le Duan Street - District 1, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. This Vietnam’s oldest zoo used to reach more than VND330 million (US$14,200) in daily revenue. However, the zoo has struggled with the cost to take care of nearly 1,500 animals as the down of ticket sales due to social distancing regulations. Saigon Zoo staffs have voluntarily donated 30 percent of their salary to buy foods for animals and the zoo’s public calls for donations have received positive feedback and donations.

These actions have proved the love of staffs giving to the animals in Saigon Zoo, with the hope for these animals to stay healthy and happy to welcome visitors when the zoo re-open. 21 new Covid-19 cases were reported, including 20 cases of community transmission relating to Đà Nẵng City (15 are from Đà Nẵng, two from Quảng Nam Province, two from Bắc Giang Province, one from Khánh Hoà Province) and one imported COVID-19 case in Ha Noi. Vietnam has recorded 810 cases.

Vietnam has confirmed 784 COVID-19 patients, with 37 new cases reported in a single day. The local infections, all traced back to Da Nang, include 22 in the coastal city, eight in Quang Nam Province, one in Hanoi, one in Hai Duong Province, two in Quang Tri Province, and one in Thanh Hoa Province.

The total of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 747 cases, with 34 new cases reported today and 2 more deaths. Deputy Minister of Health predicts that the number of new cases would continue to rise and may reach a peak in the next 10 days.

The number of new Covid-19 patients reached 43 which is the second highest new cases in a single day since July 2020. 36 in Da Nang, 4 in Lang Son Province, 2 in Bac Giang Province, and one imported case quarantined upon arrival have added to the total of 713 Covid-19 cases in Vietnam.

Vietnam has recorded the total of 620 Covid-19 cases with 34 new COVID-19 patients and 03 deaths linked to COVID-19 today. Vietnam reported another 37 Covid-19 cases, total hits 546, marking the biggest single-day jump. 26 cases were isolated immediately after entering Vietnam, 3 cases announced in Ho Chi Minh City and 8 cases in Quang Nam. It is reported that there were two Covid-19 deaths in a single day.

The HCM City People’s Committee on July 30 ordered temporary closure of establishments providing non-essential services in the city, including bars and discotheques, as from 0:00 am of July 31 until further notice. Up to 30/07/2020, there are 45 Covid-19 cases reported in Da Nang. The lockdown was applied to Da Nang Hospital, Da Nang C Hospital, and Da Nang Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Hospital as these are where recently-recorded COVID-19 patients had been around prior to their diagnosis.

Four locations in Ho Chi Minh City have been identified as places where two Covid-19 patients were visited:

1.Trieu An Hospital (9pm–10pm on July 21) - 425 Kinh Duong Vuong, An Lac Ward, Binh Tan District.

  1. City International Hospital (10am on July 21 to July 22) - 3 Street 17A, Binh Tan District

  2. Thanh Danh 2 Hotel (July 21 to July 22) - 624 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ward 4, D11

  3. AEON Mall (July 22–26) - 1 Street 17A, Binh Tan District

Please follow the following guides to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  1. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water under clean running water, or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol).

  2. Wear a mask in public.

  3. Avoid putting your hands on eyes, nose, mouth. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue, cloth, elbow.

  4. Do exercise, physical fitness, proper nutrition to build a healthy lifestyle.

  5. Clean the house, clean surfaces and contact.

  6. If you have signs of fever, cough, sneezing, and difficulty breathing, please isolate yourself at home, wear a mask and call the nearest health center for advice, examination and treatment.

  7. People who used to be in Da Nang between July 1, 2020 and July 29, 2020, please urgently contact the local disease control center to make a medical report.
